The question of being here pushes on the edges of
the texts in this issue in different ways. Queers in Palestine,
neneh noï, Samuel Solomon and Iona Roisin write through
disappearance; revealing the contours of institutions
of erasure. The writers are open about what it takes to get to
the poem, the stakes of arriving at the page. As
Queers in Palestine write elsewhere, it is sickening to have
to interrupt grieving to make demands. These poets and
collectives point to what language can do for the subject and
collective and also what state institutions and infrastructures
of war may remain untouched by the poet’s threats.
But that is the risk with writing.
